Study On Evaluation Index And Method Of Traffic Impact Degree For Construction

Traffic impact degree analysis is the key problem of TIA, and traffic impact degree evaluation of intersections is the most important. Its relative factors are so many that quantitative descriptions are hard. Presently methods of intersection's traffic impact degree evaluation were too simple and indexes' choosing was short of gists. They were empty of intersections' LOS analysis before project's construction and ignored other intersections' holistic LOS in the city.Based on the above background, the thesis chooses indexes of intersection and analysis impact degree thresholds. Evaluation method of "relative index" is proposed. The thesis discusses indexes and methods to evaluate traffic impact degree of othertraffic infrastructures and the total traffic impact degree of projects.Firstly, this thesis summarizes the characteristics of traffic impact degree analysis, contrasts and analyses all the existing indexes and methods. And then, the thesis uses the method of AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and the method of qualitative analysis to select V/C as primary indexes from many indexes selects forimportant TIA objects--intersections. Different levels of traffic impact degree aredescribed. The thesis proposes a new method of "relative index" for intersection. Through analyzing sensitivity of indexes to traffic volume, level of sevice based on V/C and statistic of actual intersection's indexes, impact degree thresholds are demarcated. So, the paper provides reasonable indexes, methods and flow for traffic impact degree evaluation of intersections. And then, the paper proposes appropriate indexes and methods to evaluate traffic impact produced by construction project for other traffic infrastructures. Based on all those studies, the paper uses the method of sensitivity analysis to evaluate the total traffic impact degree of projects. The process of evaluating traffic impact degree is exposited.Finally, the system of evaluating traffic impact degree for intersections and other infrastructures has been established.
