The author made progress of large-scale earthwork construction research of airport high embankment, including systemic echnical and economic analysis of sealing's properties, compaction techniques and quality control means, as well as in-situ trial investigation.In the beginning, compaction specialities of soil and stone as fillings are introduced, factors affect quality of compaction are analyzed. Quality control means of granule, coarse and mixed fillings in compaction are advised.Then equipments in common use of large-scale earthwork construction are presentated. Essential capability, working principle and applicability of vibratory roller, dynamic compactor and impact roller are summarized.Third, the tests applied in Hechi Airport trial construction, data of trial and error of vibratory compaction, dynamic consolidation and impact compaction on embankment are analyzed. Appropriate construction technics, parameters and quality control means with different compaction techniques are elicited. At length, the construction velocity, economic benefit and quality of each compations technique are synthesized contrasted, it is proposed that impact compaction is preferred in large-scale earthwork construction.In a word, research in the thesis into facility speciality analysis, compation test research and economic benifit study are positive and constructive to compaction means, technics, parameters and economic estimate of airport large-scale earthwork construction. The author's results are applicable to engineering practice.
