This paper summarized the results of previous studies, and introduced the importance and significance of placing-in and taking-out of wagons for railway organization and enterprises. After described the operating, processes models and categories of placing-in and taking-out of wagons, the paper discussed the basic problems and algorithms of placing-in and taking-out of wagons based on tree-shaped special lines. With analyzing various operations of placing-in and taking-out of wagons from easy to difficult, the paper constructed some models for every operating model and designed three heuristic algorithms. The reasonable of the models and the feasibility of algorithms were certified by the solving of a simulated example. The algorithms were selected by contrasting and analyzing their time complexity and results of solving example. The operating of placing-in and taking-out of wagons is not only closely related to the arrival and sending operation of trains, the technology operations of trains, the assembling of wagons, the operating of locomotives and other related operations of railway stations, but also involved in railway wagons, lines, railway shares roads, locomotive and other equipments of loading and uploading. So we should consider various factors and enact the operating planning of placing-in and taking-out of wagons to improve the overall work efficiency of stations. According to the station equipments and laws of trains, this paper detailed discussed the operating planning of placing-in and taking-out of wagons when the departure time of trains are restricted, and established a model whose aim was minimizing the total stopping time of local wagons during a stage time, and designed a algorithm to solve the problem. Then, the paper certified the reasonable of the models and the feasibility of algorithms by solving a simulated example. At last, some study ideas and methods were provided to station operations optimizing and equipment using.
