Analysis Of Urban Location In Expressway Network

The city location means position in the region. Its concept is comprehensive, which contains not only city function in the regional development but also the guide and the restriction of city development direction that are determined by the region. And it underlines the inter-contact and the interaction between various geography elements and social economy activities. In recent decades, the rapid growth of expressway is droved by the steady advancement of Chinese economy. And the growth has brought profound influence to the city location. Therefore, it is very important and meaningful to analysis the city location of expressway network.On the basis of the background of expressway network, the main research work of the thesis is aim to the city space position and relation in the road network. At the first, the city location theory and its development are described, and the concept and the connotation of the city location and its conditions are cleared. Secondly, the evaluation standards of city location analysis are induced and summarized. Based on them, the indexes of city location analysis are confirmed. Then the construction processes of each index models are understood. Especially, the breaking point model is modified, considered of economy factor and population factor when the city hinterland size is calculated. And ultimately, the models of the city location analysis in the expressway network are established.The empirical research of the city location analysis model is made, taking 14 main cities of Hunan province as studied objects. The research result indicates that the comprehensive location advantage of every main city are enhanced by expressway network in the region, but the location gaps between large city and medium-sized are enlarged at the same time.The above research is an attempt to analysis the main city location under the new traffic background, which hopes to provide certain instructional significance for the city development planning and the traffic planning in the expressway network construction.
