Many cities of China have being renew their railway station areas. However, it has become one of the difficulties in urban renewal that how to correct the mistakes of local development and management through railway station planning and construction. Integration strategy is a significant method to solve this problem. Exploring the railway station areas planning guided by integration strategy, which can make the planning and construction schemes more practical, will benefit for making railway station areas to provide breakthroughs in urban industrial development and benefit for making cities realize the promotion of urban function during the period of structural change in economy. This thesis tries to: conduct the case-study in Zhengzhou railway station area; analyse the obstacles and hindrances to planning and construction in railway station area; reveal the objectives and functions of integration strategy; explore how to balance the relations among different functional entities through integration strategy; and explore how to balance, which takes advantage of integrated development and management strategy, the relations among different interests involved in urban renewal. Through the results of this thesis, it may helpful for decision-makers in setting development plans and seizing the opportunities of railway station areas renewal so as to improve the structural adjust and promotion of city centre, and bring long-term influences to the urban development. During the period of structural change in urban function and economy, this planning method, which promotes railway station area and comprehensive traffic hubs through integrated strategy, can make a reference for the urban development and construction of other cities.
