Automotive development is very complex process, it is related with concept design, engineering design, production validation, manufacture, logistics,and so on. With the experience growing up, customers focus on not only vehicle's performance, but also appearance. The thesis analyses automotive engineering management process, and take advantages of DQ&V and virtual method to optimized process.In China automotive industry background, the thesis investigates and analysis dimension engineering performance in J.D. Power and demonstrate the important of dimension engineering in both automotive design and manufacture area. Based on the discussion of dimension engineering importance, the thesis also analysis current dimension engineering implement process model, get the"weakness point"and"problem point", through the improvement on these important point to get optimize process of dimension engineering.Aim at the"weak point", the thesis takes advantage of benchmarking to set up benchmark vehicle dimension database. Import new dimension analysis method—3D dimension analysis and DQ&V model checking method,to optimize dimension engineering process in automotive design area. Use the optimize process to run one typical area which customers focus on, and reach the economy, timing and management benefit。The thesis gets dimension engineering management process through fully analysis on current status. The new process has great practicability and has been taken into implementation.
