With the development of urban mass transit, the mileage of shanghai mass transit is increasing. In order to ensure the safety, comfortableness and punctuality of train, more rigorous requests on track maintance are needed. But at present, the work of inspection and maintance are usually accomplished manually. Also the indexs and criterions are copied from Ministry of Railways. According to such situation, this article mainly carries on an investigation into the foregoing problems.Based on experience of internal and external specialist, the instruments, evaluation and indexs of data collected in urban mass transit will be discussed by the means of maths and computer science.First of all, theory and the application of modern inspection equipments will be recommended, they are the source of data in urban mass transit. Then three methods are particularly discussed in the following chapters. As for the judgement of statistical character, irregularity data of Line 1, Shanghai metro, measured by GJY-T-4 inspecting instrument for static geometry parameter of track, are used to draw the chart of irregularities to confirm the static criterion. Then according to the relationship between static criterion and dynamic criterion, the corresponding dynamic criterion can be caculated. It is validated by ADAMS, so the dynamic criterion of track irregularities is advised; the criterion of routine maintenance for curve versine used in Ministry of Railways is imported into the system of urban mass transit. It is also proved by ADAMS according to the relationship between versine and orientation irregularity.As for the method of dynamic judgement, some indexes are adopted to weigh the level of riding comfortableness with the acceleration datas. By contrast, the Tengke method calls for more rigorously on the landscape orientation.As for the method of economy judgement, Kiyoshi KOBAYASHI's theory based on uncertainty will be introduced into the inspection and overhauling for monolithic concrete bed, in addition to the theory of deterioration development and optimum income. And of course, the results proved that it is feasible completely. In the end, the problems which deserve further studies are discussed.
