With the development of electronic technology, the uses of embedded systems are increasing broad. One important aspect of embedded system design is to choose the right microprocessor. 32 bits RISC embedded microprocessor has been the mainstream in the high-level and middle-level embedded designs. This design adopts ARM which dominates 32 bits microprocessors' market. We chose embedded Linux operating system that has the virtues of source code open and easy to modify. Besides Linux has supported most chips including X86, PowerPC, MIPS, ARM, and so on. It is especially important to embedded OS that Linux can be freely edited. In term of the need of our design, we can delete some unused modules just by configure the kernel. So, we can get as small as possible kernel to work on the embedded hardware platform. In this paper we studied ARM9 microprocessor S3C2410 and Linux Operating System, and achieved power parameters remote detection system combining with Ethernet technology. The detection system includes the voltage and current input module, the A/D conversion module, the microprocessor, the memory, the Ethernet module and so on. Using S3C2410 lessened additional interface circuit, and reduced the cost of the entire system. In the part of power parameters sampling, we studied several arithmetic of datum sampling, and chose FFT which is of obvious advantage. One of the main aims of the system is able to access the datum on the detection terminal through Ethernet. We chose CS8900A as the Ethernet controller which integrates all necessary analog circuits and digital circuits composing Ethernet circuit. A web server included is the main trend of a embedded system with network capability. We transplanted GoAhead, the embedded webserver, to this system, so the client can access to the webserver on the remote detection terminal through CGI, and the CGI programs on the webserver deal with the datum.
