It is well known that after the Second World War, Japan's design industry has gone through high speed development. While keeping abreast with international trend, they have not only obtained their old traditions, further more, successfully opened its door to international markets with their own"Japanese characteristics", which leads to the soaring of Japanese economy, but also made many of the Japanese enterprise becoming well-known in the world. All these achievements are achieved based on its profound culture and habits. Things can not be deniable is that, what really made Japan's design industry internationally renowned and formed such kind of scale is mostly attributed to the customer-oriented promotion since 1950.Comparatively, under the present China's macro-environment of market economy, the China's design industry faces many difficulties; and the prime reason of the present situation is that"the consumer-oriented education"has not gone as far as it should be which means that China does need the actual promotion of customer-oriented design urgently right now. Therefore, this research aims to choose the"The customer-oriented design promotion of Japan"as a topic, focusing on the comprehensive analysis of the history about the design promotion in Japan, observing that how did Japan turn the"customer-oriented"into reality and may be a guide to form China's own design promotion which is suitable for its nature.This research is using the chronologies and graphs to summarize the process of customer-oriented design promotion postwar in Japan at first. Further more, it selective analysis"policy","G-MARK system"as well as"region industry promotion"--the concrete implementation process. Finally, it provides the construction model of customer-oriented design promotion of Japan, and comes to the conclusion that the consumer-oriented design promotion is supposed to establish the"consumer-driven"market environment so as to promote the development of the design and the concerned industry effectively.
