As a sort of big type construction equipment, used to transport many kinds of mix level concrete and grain, Traveling—cranes have been widely used in many ways, such as hydropower constructions, freeways, railroad bridges, big civil building projects, great national defense projects and so on. From introducing into the whole set of foreign equipment to studying and exploiting by ourselves, we went across an uneven path. And the use of this type construction equipment quickly promotes the studying and exploitation about the correlation system and partial system. However, system study- exploitation and the use of the Traveling—crane is still staying in immature phase. The reliability research about it is scrabble. To make reasonable use of the whole equipment, conducting its system exploitation and application, it is necessary to build a model, which is adaptable for the system analysis, model design and reliability evaluation. At first, this paper introduces the basic composing and element of the Traveling—crane. By means of system engineering method, it has probed into building a functional analysis model, and discussing the type design of the composing elements. As to the reliability of the Traveling—crane system. This paper primarily discussed that of the reliability model and analysis by series model,FMEA and FTA, the exterior factors effecting the Traveling—crane' function. It discussed that that of the reliability distribute by Grade method. Moreover, in allusion to the cleaning components of this kind machine, this paper has defined the importance of the relative parts by means of correctitude-joint test and worked at the feasible research on the design of the assistant equipment -supply machine which puzzled function exertion of this type crane.
