The research on the system of fire water supply is limited and the actual Fire Prevention and Fire Protection Design Code for Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Projects can't satisfy the fire safety of hydropower projects. So the system of fire water supply of hydropower projects must be researchedThis paper has researched four aspects as follows.1. The paper has analyzed the problems under correction in actual code, compared the new code with the actual one, and explained the developments of fire prevention of hydroelectric projects recently.2. The paper has collected various kinds of water feeding system of the system of fire water supply of hydroelectric projects: water supply system of high pressure, water supply system of temporary high pressure, water supply system of low pressure, and mixed water supply system. And the water supply system of high pressure is the preferred to insure the safety of the system of fire water supply of hydropower projects.3. The paper has researched the calculate formula and method of the counterforce of water pistol of indoor hydrant, and explained it is important to determine the packed water column with counterforce of water pistol. The paper has provided the method and parameters of calculating the water quantity of outdoor hydrant for oilcan, and determined the water quantity. The paper has indicated the applied range and design parameters and computational method of water spray extinguishing system, concluded the design process of water spray extinguishing system, and calculated an example of the water spray extinguishing system.4. The paper has concluded the idiographic measure to improve the fire safety of hydropower projects, and provided the suggestion.All above research work has been written in the new design code, which is wished to promote the development of the water supply technology of hydropower projects.
