Vector Network Analyzer is a high performance instrument, which develops on microwave, micro-electric and computer techniques, but now the existed VNAs are complicated and costly, so to design some VNA costs less is our final goal. The design of human computer interface for VNA is introduced in this paper. Based on the requirement of less cost, we choose Linux system that is open source instead of commercial system such as WinCE, as a result, we reduce the cost as well as improvement of security, maintenance and scalable. On the other hand, four parameters error model is adopted to replace the six parameters error model, so we simplify the calculation, reduce the cost of memory space and have the feature of real-time.What we have done are as follow:1. Replant Linux system into the developed platform, create the tools chain of crossed compiler environment, then build the developing and debugging environment.2. Simplify, computer and program for the four parameters error model, based on validated model of network parameters.3. Complete the design of A/D data capture module, I/O output control module, data processing and storage module, and human computer interaction module (including LCD display module and keyboard module), and building the frame of display interface and keyboard interface.4. To implement the performance of each module and connect each module. At the end, the summary of this paper and discuss what we can improve in the future is given.
