Study On The Image Design Of Small Town

The emphases of the urban design is researching the urban special morphology and landscape, but we must think of society, economy, ecology, civilization, technology synthetically, and the aggrandizement of the ecology conception is paid more and more attention.Focus on the Image of the small towns, shaping the towns' characteristics is a hot top in China's small towns construction in the current which have been paid much attention to. To a series of questions in the China's small towns construction which of natural Mountains and rivers, such as the nature and civilization environment are ignored during the process of urban construction, and the academic and methods of planning in the plain cities are followed blindly, which result in the environment is destroied, the urban structure is confusion, the towns' characteristic is disappearing, and so on, this paper is focus on solving the problem that how to integrate the towns' characteristics in the urban design to design the image of the small towns .The thesis started with studying the ecology and eco-aesthetics, use for reference the correlative ideas and methods in China and foreign countries, then use the ancient town of Jiangnan as the Case Study from the perspective of regional and individual to research the Jiangnan towns' image. From the perspective of urban design, in conjunction with urban planning, sociology, economics and other disciplines, foreign construction of small towns of successful experience in practice to research the effective strategies in the overall image of small towns which is designed to enrich and develop the urban design theory.Finally,with the case of Zhouzhuang Image Design, the paper study how to protect and make use of the nature ,and form the characteristic of small towns' special characters in order to make the whole image of the towns.
