With digital era coming and rapid development of TCP/IP, higher reliability is demanded by telecontrol telegrams transmission gradually. Meanwhile, IEC104 protocol based on Ethernet network tends to take the place of other protocols. In order to meet the requirement of power administration section for the monitor and maintenance of IEC104 protocol, there has been created lots of solution to the monitor and testing including IEC104 protocol, and so on.This thesis introduces technologies and characters for common power telecontrol protocol home and abroad, especially on IEC104 section. Then a conclusion is made on advantages of application for it. Based on the study of telecontrol testing technology and combining with embedded software technology, a higher quality-to-price ratio solution is proposed and a handheld power telecontrol testing system is developed.Firstly, on the basis of study of single chip application in embedded system, master/slave CPU interface circuit, interruption system module, system storage management module and software holistic structure have been designed.Secondly, through utilizing Ethernet communication technology, the requirements of main function modules are analyzed for power telecontrol protocol testing, and the processing of IEC104 protocol telegrams based on Ethernet was described in detail.Finally, USB technologies are adopted between PC software and firmware and RS-232 serial communication for master/slave CPU. Moreover, transmission protocol is programmed to realize communication. The most important thing is that reliability and exactitude for serial communication have been debugged and validated many times during the development.The remarkable sale results indicate that the handheld testing system is applicable for practicable use and content with power operator. In addition, in terms of kinds of practical problems, this thesis introduces some ideas and measures of improvement in the form of discussion, for example, power telecontrol protocol seamless testing based on virtual instrument technology.
