The generator dynamic simulation is a synthesis experiment system based on highly automatic simulation generator operation of modern electrical power system. The platform can provide electrical engineering experiment with a comprehensive physical simulation experimental system of electrical power system, and the requirements of the openning, innovation and comprehensiveness can be satisfied.Based on further research on existed electrical simulation system, and considering the characteristic and function of this system, an integrated control pattern with speed governor, excitation and unit comprehensive control module is introduced which is fit for experiment system. Entire system is an open modularization control system, mainly composed of the prime mover governor module, excitation adjustor module, unit control module and man-machine interface module.After the introduction of the function and characteristic of the generator dynamic simulation system, the principle and construction of prime mover and excitation controller is analized, mathematical model for excitation system simulation is established, and the mechanical function of DC electromotor by employing bio-feedback control system to simulate the self-balancing characteristic of turbine is improved. Moreover, SCR excitation system simulation program is employed to simulate semiconductor self-parallel excitation and separate excitation. Based on PLC the prime mover system and excitation controller experimental simulation devices are designed on which total digitalization of prime mover system and excitation controller can be realized. And design of hardware circuit and software as well was also completed.The flow diagram of unit automatic opening and parking is described. The data exchange between PLC and touch screen can be carried out by using macro command function and monitoring function in system is introduced, communication between PLC and computer is realized by configuration software, Freeport communication and Modbus protocol.Static and dynamic experiment results show that the self-balance characteristic of prime mover governor and synchronous generator excitation system simulation can be better controlled by the experiment device. The control precision, reliability and stability of the whole system have been improved greatly. The various kinds of parameters may meet the anticipated design requirements in the scheme and it has better performance cost ratio and production application prospect.
