Traction substation plays an important role in supplying power to the locomotive used in electrified railway transportation. If a fault rises, the transport stabilization may be thrown into confusion, and it will lead to tremendous economic loss and bad social influence. Traction substation should be safe, steady, effective and continuous, so it is very important to improve the system's security and reliability. In the information epoch, the rapid development and good application prospect of Internet technology makes it a way to be various of information. Remote condition monitoring and diagnosis based-on Internet/Intranet is welcome and regarded on academe and industry.This paper advanced Internet-based project about how to diagnose the fault of traction power supply system in intelligent way on remote condition. Main research content as follows: firstly, the paper introduced the constitution of traction power supply system and its working mode. Explained with examples analyzed the distribution and the reason of faults in traction power supply system. According to the regulation of railway department, the step of accident repair was made sure.Secondly, the detailed function analysis, top-level design and implementation algorism of the ES is proposed. The expert system kernel takes the form of a typical Production Expert System: inference engine as the central part, electrical equipment database, fault information database, current jump event identification rule base, protective relaying scheme rule base and relay-CB configuration rule base as basis part, explanation module and human-machine interfacing module as assistant part. The equipments in electrical equipment database are described by means of objects, where the rules described by means of Production Rules. The procedural inference engine and the fault data driven forward reasoning are employed.Thirdly, considering the character of remote fault intelligent diagnosis system, it selects the B/S system structure after stating the characters of B/S system. After that, it introduces the composition and working principle of this system. This paper expatiate the application of Expert System technology in this system, web-based database is also used in this system. A fault remote intelligent diagnosis system of traction power supply system on remote condition was built, which offered an essential condition of repairing faults in traction power supply system.In the end, the thesis introduces and demonstrates all the function modes of the system.
