The remote monitor of power system is current a research hot spot of the international top orders, because it gets the quick development in recent years and the engineers of department relevant power system pay attention to it increasingly. The development and application of remote monitor in power system have the important meaning to the safe running of the power system and have the obviously economic and social performance.The embedded power surveillance system researched in this paper is an important subject of SEED Electronic Technology Ltd. This system unifies the functions of power spot and control devices, using embedded, network and surveillance technology and it is the important node of embedded power surveillance network. With the advantage of embedded system, it is a potent supplement to traditional power surveillance domain. Based on deeply researching the characteristics of EP9315 and the use of peripherals, this paper detailedly expatiates the whole configuration of system and the design of every functional interface. The test demo of every peripheral is programmed simultaneity. Taking other embedded system as foundation, this paper successfully settles embedded develop problems as initialize code, MMU, VIC interrupt vectors and realizes the customization and transplant of Redboot. The transplant of ARM-Linux and QT is also successlly realized and a voltage demo based on QT is designed. The important duty is to design Linux device drivers of CAN, DA, SPI Flash, DIO, etc. Through carefully testing and debugging, every function of the system is realized. The sample board of system has been produced and after being got over some bugs, it will be on sale.The core chip of this system is ARM processor EP9315 of Cirrus Logic Company. It extends DA/AD converter to collect current and voltage information of power locale. These information is transferred through CAN-BUS by CAN monitor. This system also has Internet interface to connect spot device with control device and realize instruction transmit and feedback. The CRT and LCD module display picture and table that represents the spot current and voltage information in CRT or LCD panel. This function makes power manager implement Real-time surveillance. This system builds ARM-Linux operating system on ARM chip to control peripherals and spans embedded Web server to remotely issue information through the Internet. The controller can also use Web explorer to control spot. Firstly, this paper introduces simply development of power surveillance and applications of embedded technology in this domain. Secondly, this paper introduces the whole system design. Then, this paper expatiates the pivotal develop technology of ARM chip EP9315. Lastly, this paper detailedly introduces the use, interface design and Linux device driver of CAN monitor EP9315.It can be foreseen that the remote monitors will become a necessary part of power system and the technique of remote monitors also will become a new cross course. At the same time, the remote monitor will become a huge market and have economic and scientific performance.
