City road intersection is the main bottleneck of road traffic capacity. The development of city is always troubled with traffic congestion and accidents, especially road in urban river bridge area and slip intensive district, the smooth flow of road traffic is seriously impacted. So it is an important issue that the close continuous intersection capacity is improved. At present, there is little research on city close continuous intersection capacity. The intersection capacity and methods of traffic organization optimization are analyzed to evaluate close intersection capacity and improvement of the operating conditions reasonably.At first, the single point of signal intersection capacity is described as a basis in this paper. Some kinds of capacity researches are compared, then it is concluded that saturated flow method is the more reasonable calculation method.Secondly, based on the conclusion of comparison of the capacity calculation methods, saturated flow method is chosen because it is more reasonable. Close continuous intersection capacity which fills the supposition is analyzed by saturated flow method, and theoretical capacity models after emendation of dallying modulus and methods of traffic organization optimization of typical close continuous intersection are proposed.Finally, intersection of An Qing Road-Jin Zhai Road and intersection of An Qing Road-Meng Cheng Road in He Fei city are taken as a traffic simulation example. The calculative result of theoretical models and the result of simulation are compared to be nearly the same. So the validity of theoretical models is validated.
