Final drive reducer is one of key components of automobile. The assembling quality of final drive reducer will directly influence automobile performance. This paper presents a systematic research on assembling quality of automotive final drive reducer by using quality control tools. The methods are put forward to solve the main problems in current assembling quality of automotive final drive reducer after which are found out.Firstly, the paper introduces the construction, assembling processes and the quality control methods of typical automotive final drive reducer. Then, starting by the main quality indexes in the assembling of automotive final drive reducer, the systematic analysis to assembling quality of automotive final drive reducer is performed by the quality analysis tools such as Pareto Diagram and Correlation Graph in quality control methods. The main problems--superstandard temperature of the pinion gear bearings, superstandard starting moment of final drive reduce and superstandard noise of final drive reduce in current assembling quality of automotive final drive reducer are found out.Secondly, aiming at the pinion gear bearings' preload --the most important quality index in assembling of automotive final drive reducer, the paper analyzes the mechanical model in detail, offers the calculate formula of pinion gear bearings' preload, finds out the methods to control the preload of pinion gear bearings by using the Cause and Effect Diagram.Lastly, for improving the assembling quality of final drive reducer, the paper performs two methods—the dynamic screwing down technology based on Regression Analysis and the control technology of push force to bearings based on SPC on the base of analyzing the shortage of current control method to the preload of pinion gear bearings.
