The turnout is the weakest part of the whole railway track and is directly related to speed restrictions and traffic safety. With the development of railway transportation in China, both the speed and density of train traffic would be promoted greatly. The requirement of turnout's safety operation has been dramatically increased. It means that more excellent monitoring systems of point switch should be established. In view of this, nowdays some research institutes have been developing the monitor systems of the railway switch. But they pay more attention to the electric Para. The switch's engineering parameter, such as close-up of switch rail and track gauge and acceleration of track bed, will be given our exclusive attention. Whether the close-up of switch point is directly related to train operation safety.This paper first introduces the developing background and the research status of the measurement system for railway and the measurement principle. Then it illustrates the hardware platform and software platform of measure device, which includes sensors, embedded operating systems, device drivers, application program. At last I use MATLAB to accomplish data processing and analysis program. This paper presented the high-speed switch detector is aim to establish a high-speed railway switch monitoring system. Therefore it can be used as a portable track detection instrument. After extended the function of communication module, it can also used as a switch monitoring system.
