Since the reform development, the cities in china have been experiencing the changes, which are continual and rapid. The reconstruction of many buildings has cancelled the former days and renewed the appearances of the cities, but also brought the problems and contradictions. The historical blocks have the time characteristics and the historical values, and they are very important and should be protected in the cities. Through analyzing the examples of the blocks renewal,this article proposes the principles and the methods in order to avoid the lessons when we reconstruct the historical blocks.First, this article elaborates the significance of realism and use for reference, and summarizes the academic research and practical development of the domestic and foreign historical blocks, which have been renewed.Secondly, this article discovers the effect and influence of the factors when we renew the historical blocks through analyzing the examples from the political, economic, cultural, historical, and other factors, and summarizes the shortages.Otherwise, this article analyzes the successful experiences of historical blocks renewal in the other countries, and obtains the experiences and lessons, which are useful to our country.Finally, through the above analysis, the author proposes the principles and the methods of the renewal and development of the historical blocks.
