Nowadays, embedded devices with many kinds of functions have been widely used in different areas because of many advantages, including using and carrying easily, simple architecture, low power consumption, low cost, etc. Direction induced encrypting system and automobile navigating system are two examples of the uses of embedded devices.The direction induced encrypting system, which is based on electronic compass technology, puts forward a fire-new password input method. It breaks through the limitation of the traditional password inputting method and is especially suitable for embedded device. The automobile navigating system provides a lot of functions, such as navigating, global position system, car back aid and voice leaving system.There are six chapters in this thesis. The first one is the introduction of the whole project. It make brief introduction to the embedded operating system, embedded Linux, and the two systems. The second chapter is about the modules of the direction induced encrypting system. It explains its basic principia, its key technology, its technological difficulties and their solution. The third chapter will tell you how to integrate the modules of direction induced encrypting system, show the architecture and the flow charts of its software. The fourth chapter is about the modules of the automobile navigating system, including how to read video data and show the image, GPS technology, operating audio device, etc. The fifth chapter shows the architecture of the automobile navigating system, the flow charts of its software and its key code with essential explanation. The last chapter introduces how to transplant the two systems from PC to Sitsang platform. It explains how to custom the kernel of the embedded Linux, install graphic interface system, build cross-compile environment, generate the executable files of the applications for ARM processor and so on. Finally, in the tag, the whole thesis is summarized and the research trend has been mentioned.
