| Under the pressure of increasingly serious air pollution caused by vehicle emission worldwide, the issues of protecting environment and restricting exhaust emission have caught much more attention nowadays. In our country, the emission caused by motorcycle does a lot of harm to the environment. The carburetor engine has to be replaced by EFI engine. The emission regulation of the motorcycle comes more and more stringent. But conventional EFI has the disadvantages of the complex structure and high cost that can hardly be accepted by users. Compared with it ,FAI EFI system has far more superiorities in structure, cost and performance, and it has been successfully used on 4-stroke single cylinder motorcycles.The main task of this paper is to apply the FAI system on motorcycles with a two cylinder engine for the purpose of emission reduction to clear the emission regulation of European stage 3. The FAI system adopts the methods of multi-inject into intake ports. The closed-loop control with two oxygen sensors each for one cylinder can meet the requirement of the emission regulation. Compared with the carburetor engine, the motorcycle using FAI system has good performances on power, economy and emissions. The motorcycle passed the E/e-mark certification after the tests of emission, noise and Electromagentic disturbance on the two cylinders motorcycle using FAI system were carried. The result indicates the two cylinders motorcycle using FAI system fully achieve the export standard.The start performance tests of the two cylinders motorcycle using FAI system were also carried out, the result indicates the motorcycle have a good start performance. |
