Industry is a important part of the human society productive forces, it promotes the social development and human progress. The industrial building along with the industry is the carrier of the advanced productive forces, This kind of building is also the signs of the promotion of human civilization ,and it plays a critical role in the community and the city's development process .For various reasons, in recent years, some industial buildings in urban and peri-urban areas has become more of the "old state." They are decline,idle and their environment is poor. They occupy large areas of land and brought many serious problems for the city.This paper is from that point of view, to study how the use of these idle old building, tap their potential value, solve the problems, replace the functions, update the image, adjust the content, and make the old buildings can be rejuvenated.Through the discussion in this paper, hoping to attract more people to concerns of thinking the old industrial buildings, and efforts to sum up into a system, reasonable and effective reuse of old industrial building design strategies to guide the future of the actual project, solve old industrial buildings' problems, improve the reappearance of this old building activity, update a city's image, promote social harmony sustainable development.Paper is divided into four parts. The first chapter introduces the old industrial building-related information, including: issues origin, background, meaning, Research and the related definition and characteristics. The second chapter describes in detail the construction of the old industrial re-use of significance, Analysis of the old industrial building the problems and potential value, and described the reuse of old industrial building will bring us great benefits from architecture, city history, social, and other aspects . The third and the four chapters are the discussion of the design counter measures. From two angles of monomer and groups , study the reuse of old industrial construction methods and measures in functional structure, transportation systems, the overall environment, space, architectural entities, industrial facilities, and other details .
