The Switched Reluctance Drive possesses have many inherent advantages of adjustable-speed drive, it attracts more and more attention and shows competition in commercial applications. In this thesis the 3kW 4-phase switched reluctance motor(SRM with 8 stator and 6 rotor poles)control system is designed based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP).In this paper, the development of Switched Reluctance Motor Drive (SRD) is introduced, and the basic structure and characteristic of SRD are provided. The characteristic and operation principle of switched reluctance motor are analyzed in detail, and the mathematical model of switched reluctance motor is built. According to the variation of its inductance, winding current and torque at different stage, the following control method is used: varying angle control and voltage chopping on high-speed; fixed angle current chopping control on low-speed. Two-closed-loop scheme includes a current loop and a speed loop.By introducing and comparing general power conversion circuits, H-type power converter is adopted in the system. IGBT is used as the main switch-component whose drive circuit is EXB841, and the correlative parameters are analyzed and calculated. SRM control system design of hardware is based on DSP designed by TI company. The control system includes detector circuit, protection circuit, control and man-machine interface circuit, which makes full use of DSP resources for high reliability and simplified the construction of system.In order to read and maintain easy, a microprogramming modular is adopted in system software design. A new control strategy of Fuzzy angle control and PI control are realized for improving motor's working efficiency. Empoldering system software modules associating the hardware circuit make system perfect performance.Finally, experiments have been done on this practical systerm. Experiments show that, the system design is rational, the control method and control strategy are correct and effective. The system runs stable and reliable, and meets the requirement.
