The planning of oilfield electrical network is the planning which carries on to the transformer substations and the distribution lines in oilfield, has the influential role to the oilfield electrical network construction. This kind of planning involves many kinds of factors. The characteristic has the multi-objectives, the uncertainty, the misalignment and the multi-gradualness. The former staffs solved this kind of problem depend upon the experience and the simple computation, so it's very difficult to choose a more reasonable plan. This topic has conducted more thorough research using the geographic information system and mathematics optimization algorithm to the planning of oil field electrical network.First the oilfield power distribution GIS has been established, this system has the functions including graphical display, the spatial inquiry statistics, the data maintenance, the electrical network analysis and the equipment records management.Unified with the GIS system, also developed the optimization software of oilfield distribution network, this software has the functions including power flow calculation, the network reconfiguration, the optimization of reactive power compensation, the backstage information management of network and so on. Two sets of systems complement one another, Thus improved the planning quality and efficiency. The paper further discussed the algorithms of topology construction analysis, topology matrix generation, power flow calculations, spatial load forecasting, optimization of transformer substation and network structure, network reconfiguration, as well as optimization of reactive power compensation. Finally, by way of planning examples applied in an old oilfield electrical network and a new oilfield electrical network, confirmed the optimal planning method proposed by the paper is not only advanced, but also practical, and can meet the practical planning requirements.
