The Application Of Usability Engineering In Industrial Design

As the development of science and technology, the application of high-tech especially the computer technology in industrial products has became more and more extensive. But for the users, these products also bring them lots of difficulties. Such difficulties are caused by usability problems.Usability engineering is a system of design methods to improve the usability of products which has been used widely in many areas especially in software and web design and has already became an industry standard. And a few kinds of usability methods have been used in industrial design and such experiments brought very impressive achievement.The subject is based on the huge number of usability problems and analysis deeply on the weaknesses of the focus, process and methods of industrial design which causes those problems. Research how to change the focus of design from products to users, how to use repeated design in industrial design and how to use usability methods in the whole process of industrial design. Trying to find a way to improve industrial design and raise the usability of products.In the last part is a example to prove the feasibility of the methods, and try to give some references for other practices.
