Industrial reconstruction is the main approach for enterprise expanding. At the same time, the producing technique also faces industrial building upgrading to fit in the new requirement. Industrial reconstruction is related to the workplace safety as well as the workers'personal lives. The study on the present industrial reconstruction is meaningful in terms of both theory and reality.Based on the reconstruction project of a steelmaking mill building in Hubeixinyegang Co. Ltd, this article discusses the principle and procedure of feasibility analysis in industrial reconstruction, and proposes eight steps in the procedure of industrial building reinforcement: performance analysis of framework material, damage identification of framework component, inspection of environment, safety and duration examination of industrial building, safety comparison of industrial building before and after load increase, project selection of reinforcement and reconstruction, feasibility analysis of the project, and result evaluation of the project. Site investigation, technique inspection, testing and calculation of the internal force as well as the load capacity are carried out. Based on the results, the reliability testing on the workplace structure is given, followed by the final assessment and the suggestions on reinforcement. Based on the project, a new asymmetric reinforcing method is proposed and its feasibility analysis is given. This so-called asymmetrical reinforcement method reinforces the girder at the lower wing edge without any work stoppage. The results show this newly proposed method is feasible and economical. It follows the procedure of the industrial reconstruction, and is helpful to achieve the safe-economical-feasible goal. Last but not the least, based on the comparison of construction project and reinforcement project, this article deduces some major risk factors at the workplace of reinforcement, such as object strike, falls from height, mechanical injury and electric shock, and proposes security management strategy.
