The civil aircraft is a complex system with extremely complicated structure and highly concentrated technology, the application and maintenance of which are both greatly demanding proficient technicians. Therefore, this thesis which is aimed to raise the maintenance level of the aero technicians, lower the difficulty level of maintenance and research into the method and technology of maintenance will be of great significance. The main work of this paper is to study how to construct this system based on researching IETM,and has developed a personified and intelligent maintenance aid system, centered on the maintenance technicians. This maintenance aid system can be applied to improve the ability of maintenance staff in worksite, and ensure that they can get a higher quality of maintenance and efficiency of maintenance when the aircraft failure happens. The main work in this paper may be summarized as follows:Firstly, this paper researches on the methods of description and storage about the data of aviation maintenance, according to analyzing its characteristic. Then we finish the conversion from aviation maintenance data to relational database which will be extended to what we need. And next is studying how to access this database that gets ready with the techonology data for researching the simulation of assembly in following chapter.Secondly, we design the data interface of STL files which are exported by CATIA to read STL files, and then realize the geometry reconstruction of the three-dimensional model using the standard drawing function of OpenGL that is a kind of graphics standard. At the same time, the accessorial control functions of 3D model are also realized.Thirdly, it is supposed that the assembly and the disassembly are a pair of reversible operarions, so disassembly simulation can use the method of assembly. Combining the characteristic of using the trigonometry to express the model in virtual maintenance system, we have researched a kind of method to solve the relationship of the restricter between the assembly models, and adopted the description of maintenance task instead of the assembly sequence to realize the assembly of the components.Finally, this paper does some reseaches on the simultaneous show of the assembly and IETM. And taking the assembly of APU Ignition Unit as an example, we realize the virtual maintenance system elementarily.
