Civil aircraft is a large-scale and highly-intensive scientific and technological equipment, whose structure is extremely complex. The maintenance of civil aircraft requires a very high technical level for the maintainers. Therefore, to enhance the level of civil aircraft maintenance and reduce maintenance difficulties, carrying out the study of maintenance training has important theoretical value and practical significance.This paper studies the construction of the virtual maintenance training system based on the study about interactive electronic technical manual data structure and data analysis techniques. The main work in this paper may be summarized as follows:(1) IETM Data Structure. Process-oriented maintenance (POM) requires data structure. Process-oriented maintenance based on IETM data, firstly requires us to understand IETM data structure. S1000D is a popular specification of IETM, which specifies data to be stored as XML files and to be in a unified format by Schema;(2) IETM Data Analysis Technology. POM requires the data should be logical, Human Machine Interface (HMI), which can be realized by process data module and logic engine. Process data module is a logical flow of information. Logic engine can achieve HMI by reading the module and obtaining data from the outside environment, then show appropriate information to the user;(3) IETM-based Virtual Maintenance Training. SCORM is a reference model for the study and training, but it is short of uniform format for the data. S1000D can make up the shortcoming, and specifically prepare for the study and training by edit/fabricate learning data module and SCORM content package aggregation modules.
