Along with the increasing development of social economy and urbanization, the urban population and vehicles increase rapidly. Traffic congestion and traffic jam have been the prevalent problems for metropolis all over the world. Traffic accident, energy wasting, air pollution caused by exhaust gas and other problems resulted from traffic congestion and traffic jam not only seriously restrict the sustainable development of social economy, but also severely influence the urban living environment. Therefore, under the existing road condition, it is one of the effective ways to solve traffic problem by improving traffic control and management level, and rationally using existing traffic establishment and adequately exerting its function.The traditional model-based control theory and method are difficult to achieve good effect in urban traffic signal control system, because of time-varying, stochastic and uncertain characteristics of the traffic flow. So the research of Intelligent Transportation System is becoming very important in order to enhance the efficiency of traffic and ensure the development of economy stably. According to the characteristics of complexity, randomicity and difficulty description by exact mathematic model of the traffic system, this paper presented and advanced the traffic real-time fuzzy control method in isolated intersection which did not need to established exact mathematic model. Firstly, the paper presented a kind of traffic real-time fuzzy control method based on the traffic demand intensities in isolated intersection by analyzing the question existented in traditional fuzzy controller, design a fuzzy controller and used the MATLAB software to simulate the system. The result showed that the controller run well. Secondly, the paper explained how important of actualizing bus signal priority system to solve traffic problem in our country by expatiating bus priority and its significance, then applied the fuzzy control theory into bus priorit control model, and advanced a kind of fuzzy control model for traffic signal which considered the bus priorit.
