Research On Protection And Development Of "Chen Jiageng Architecture"

For protection of cultural heritage, countries all over the world and UNESCO have done a lot of work. With development of society and economic, the protection of cultural Heritage has greatly attracted more and more attention of governments and academic fields of countries all over the world. "Chen jiageng architecture" has indelible status in modern architectural history. Mr. Chen jiageng put all his heart to our country and invested on education. Jimei School Village and Xiamen university taken charge of and enlisted construction by him has been continuing for half of a century, which grows up "Chen jiageng Style architecture" called in modern architectural history. On june of 2006, "Chen jiageng historical architecture" in Xiamen university and Jimei School Village was listed in historical and cultural sites. "Chen jiageng architecture" takes on humanism value orientation and deep cultural connotation, whose historical value and aesthetics value can not be replaced by new architecture. "Chen jiageng architecture" is treasure of architecture culture in south fujian and carrier of culture in special era. Its special and bright image has let it to be important composing of "culture capital in city" and visible and invisible asset in Xiamen and even south fujian. This paper is devote to discussing influence that regional culture and Mr. Chen jiageng's life of emigration put on forming a style of architecture. Based on analyze of value on history, science and art, it makes a probe into protection, inheriting and development of "Chen jiageng architecture" and excavation of city's history and culture connotation. It puts forward not only the thoughts of continuing historical context and manifesting city's individual characteristic in modern city zone construction, but also possibility of combining protection of "Chen jiageng architecture" and city's regional brands and developing strategy. Research and protection of "Chen jiageng architecture" would be propitious to development of construction of Xiamen and has positive significance to enhance popularity and reputation of city, and also carry forward spirit of Mr. Chen jiageng.
