A Study On Architectural Feature Of Zhenjiang Architecture During The Period Of Minguo Of China

Zhenjiang is one of the early modern cities in China, has a sinuose course on modernization. Being provincial capital of Jiangsu Province in the period of min guo of China, the city of Zhenjiang developed in despite of the social change and war damage. Buildings of this period are witness to the city's progress. During this period a variety of architectural styles with high historical and artistic value existed in Zhenjiang. In order to respect the history and continue the context, we shall take more effective methods and measures to protect and preserve these historical buildings.Based on the mapping of these buildings, the dissertation classify and categorize these buildings mainly from the aspect of the buildings'art feature, and draw conclusions.The dissertation first sort the buildings by the state of conservation, then categorize these buildings by three different methods, and give a brief introduction to each building.The second part of the dissertation analyse the space feature of these buildings, probe into the commonness and difference by the point of the form of space, the dimensions, the scale, the division and organization of the space, the feature of the space interface, the transition of interior and outer space.The third part of the dissertation study the visual characteristics of these buildings, systematicly analyse the shape, facade, colour and ornament, draw a conclusion to its'pluralistic modeling characteristics.
