Because of the cold formed thin-walled light steel structure's special construction,if the mechanics model is drawn according to the rigid connection frame, the bearing capacity of the structure will be over-evaluated;and if mechanics model is drawn according to the pinned connection frame, the safety of the structure will lean to low.In order to predict the bearing capacity of system rationally,it should consider the true nonlinearity of the connections in the design and analysis of the structure.A connection of the Cold-formed thin-walled steel with Self-drilling screw is presented in this design, and Finite Element Program ABAQUS is used to study its performance considering material nonlinear, and main contents are given as follows:(1) The factors which impact the initial stiffness and moment are the thick of linked plate and the strengthen rib,but the latter has little impact.(2) The M -θcurves of the beam-column connection of the Cold-formed thin-walled steel suggest that:the curve of relative rotation-moment in the connection between the M axial andθaxial. This trait proves the semi-rigidity in the connection.(3) The destructive model of the Cold-formed thin-walled steel connection has three cases:The maximum stress in the beam reaches limited strength and the max stress in the hole around of column.(4) The ultimate strength of node decreases as the thinkness of plate increases. When the thickness of connection plate varites in the range of 0.5mm~1.0mm and 1.5mm~2.0mm,the ultimate changes little. However,if the range is 1.0mm~0.5mm,the ultimate changes greatly.(5) If the plate thickness t≤1.0mm,the joint is elastic, and the stress of screw is maximum. But,when the load add to the limit load, the joint is platic, and the maximum stress of beam reaches the ultimate strength.
