Under the background of energy crisis and whole society advocating energy conservation, the aim of the thesis is to study the feasibility of popularizing in Hebei Province's countryside passive solar house which both protect environment and conserve energy for sustainable development of human beings. The thesis first introduces the definition of passive solar house. After acquainting related teachers and students with design principle of passive solar house, the author mobilized them to investigate the Hebei Province's countryside during the holiday.It took them over a year to learn of present housing scale in various areas of Hebei countryside, average household income, acceptable housing cost, average warming cost and common family scale. Analyzing and Studying the questionnaires, the author works out a thermodynamic plan for passive solar house in Hebei Province's countryside, refers to current skills of construction and energy conservation, and designs single-story and multi-story passive solar houses which suit the current situation of Hebei Province's countryside. Calculating the net load of passive solar house and the gross load of contrast house, sun heat received by two houses, auxiliary heat and rate of energy conservation, based on market investigation and comprehensive basic cost of project budget in Hebei Province, the thesis analyzes and compares the cost of two houses.In order to optimize the cost and the rate of conservation, the thesis regulates the way and material choose, and realize the aim that the rate of energy conservation averages 70% when the cost increases by 20%. At last the analysis according to project economics proves that average household in Hebei Province's countryside can afford passive solar house technologically and economically, that the time limit of investment recovery of passive solar house (below 10 years) is far less than that of its usage, then that popularizing passive solar house in Hebei Province's countryside is feasible.
