Currently, diesel electronic control technology mainly focused on the executor and design of Electronic Control Unit. In the design of Electronic Control Unit, a more mature model is "V" shaped design patterns, that is "functional design" to "rapid control prototyping", and to "target code generation", "hardware-in-loop simulation," finally, as a "real test." In the engine real test, if inconsistency of its functions and requirements is found, it can be modified and improved with the stepping back to any of the procedures. With the merits of short development time, cost less and so on, hardware-in-loop simulation has its core part of the mathematical model based on controller and the controlled object which is established by computer, achieving the design of the controller by use of simulation methods. Then use software to translate and edit the control algorithm directly to the object code compiled, download to the microprocessor on the hardware for the loop simulation, until the hardware of electronic control unit is implemented.This article mainly discussed the hardware-in-loop simulation method of diesel engine electronic speed control system on dSPACE. First of all, according to the characteristics of dual-fuel diesel engine, it analyzed and optimized diesel engines' body model, dynamical system model, load model, the electronic speed control unit model, and the model of supply adjustment. Then, the article set up the graphics simulation model of the entire diesel engine system. In MATLAB / SIMULINK platform, it built models based on the two-dimensional linear interpolation method and the traditional PID algorithm electronic speed control system, improved the interpolation method, and added the contents of the fuzzy control. Finally, the article realized the ultimate hardware in-the-loop simulation through studying the use methods and procedures of the dSPACE simulation platform and the entire diesel engine system hardware in the loop simulation by use of dSPACE simulation platform, building dSPACE simulation interface of 4135 diesel engine electronic speed control system, setting up the simulation parameters and simulation and analyzing the results of the simulation. In this paper, hardware in the loop simulation of diesel engine electronic control unit has been realized. Although there are some issues worthy of further exploration, the important thing is more advanced simulation platform based on the dSPACE for the idea of design electronic control unit has been practiced which provides the foundation for the engine electronics control unit of the hardware in-the-loop simulation. This is bound to play an important role in the development of the engine electronic control technologies.
