Preliminary Research On Private Cars' Influence Of Residence Spatial Environment

Content: Transportation has deep influence on both social shape and space shape of the urban. The development of transportation system is a great inducing tool for urban growth. According to the principle of Circular and Causation, increased private cars greatly improved the transport capacity. The long distance is never an obstacle, which change people's house purchasing mind and gradually induce people, commercial centers and related industries to the edge of city and finally make the residential area become larger and broader. Using the space-time effect to analyze, private cars reduce travel time, maximize the family effect, which also enlarge the housing location range.Private cars increase the space accessibility, which influences the pattern and scale of residence space. Taking Dalian as an example, this text research the private cars'impact on the residential space based on the residents'travel behavior between jobs and housing. Through the survey of private car's quantity, residents'travel behavior and the partiality of housing location, acquire the information of residents'social attribute, behavioral space and psychology partiality. Using the GIS technology to imitate and analyze. Research on private cars'Influence of residential space based on residents'travel behavior, has expanded the research field in the traffic and land-utilize relationship from the view of private transport tools. This research has important meanings in guiding the plan witch integrate urban residential region and transportation. The result shows : Residents'car-purchasing have certain relevance with the situation of jobs-housing. Because of the unharmonious between jobs and housing in the expanding area, travel inconvenience is the major problem, the long distance and time is the only infective factor which reduces residents'evaluation to the urban expansion region. This factor can only be improved through the improvement of the means of transportation and traffic route. The increase of the private car has strengthened the convenience and swiftness.This text, take Dalian as the researching case. Setting up the measurement model, evaluates the role of private cars to the residential expansion and analyze the relationship between them. The results show that, in various kinds of influencing factors, private cars'contribution rate reaches 2.14% in average from year 1990 to 2004 ,when in year 2010 the contribution rate will reach 10.77%.The change of residential condition in Dalian is almost the same as the model anticipated in three different stages. Meanwhile, investigating on the private car number of families in different orientation and different distance draw the conclusion that 5 kilometers away from urban centre, private cars'effect on residential expansion is the most remarkable.
