As the shortage of urban land resources and population growth have become increasingly intensified in recent years, small high-rise residential have begun to emerge substantial in medium-sized cities in China. Small high-rise residential structures of a variety of forms, one of the most widely used are short-pier shear wall structure. But due to the research of this structure is limited. There is no complete design theory and method to guide design. Because of short-pier shear wall opening hole larger and the shorter wall, its mechanical properties has bigger changes than ordinary shear wall. Therefore, it is necessary to make further research and analysis about short-pier shear walls structure.There is a little report about the Seismic performance and economic indicators of small high-rise residential short-pier shear wall structure system, special-shaped column frame shear wall structure system and ordinary shear wall structure system, which impact people's understanding to integrated indicators of residential structure of the system. It is not conducive to developers and designers to grasp the scope of application of residential structure of the system. The author believes that the residential structure of the system has a problem of the scope of application. It should be beginning from its seismic performance and economic indicators of the comprehensive evaluation to be a scientific definition. Therefore, this thesis research mainly includes the following aspects:1 .We quantitative analysis the variation regularity of the maximum story drift angle , seismic shear and so on ,which through choose different wall length, wall thickness(the rate of different wall), and concrete strength grades of short-pier shear wall structure. At the same time, we can deduce the lateral stiffness's variation regularity. Meanwhile the author made an in-depth research and analysis of septuplet area short-pier shear wall structure system which thickness of shear wall is 200mm. The author primary defined the scope of wall ratio for 4.5~5.6%, which can provide a effective basis and reference about how to improve the lateral stiffness of structure and get a more appropriate primary selection wall ratio for designers when they are designing short-pier shear wall structures.2 .In this paper according to the other two small high-rise residential structures that is the ordinary shear wall structure system and special-shaped column frame shear wall structure system, which comparative analyzed with short-pier shear walls structure. Through the change of system structure parameters, the author made a comprehensive and systematic seismic performance computation and analysis, summarize the rules and characteristics of stiffness, cycle, displacement, internal force and etc. It provided basics for reasonable choosing small high-rise residential structure system from the seismic performance considerations.3. It made three kinds of structure systems become working drawings in this scheme, then calculate the amount of concrete and steel in wall of concrete, column, beam, and plate etc and its direct costs.It compared the materials consumption of per unit area which is mainly steel and concrete and per unit area cost of three structural systems(The main considerations for steel and concrete), and provided useful reference for getting reasonable small high-rise residential structure system from the economic performance considerations.4. A comprehensive analysis of these three structure systems seismic structure and economic cost illustrated that the short-pier shear wall structure is preferred in small high-rise residential structure,at present.
