The experiments of floating ring bearings and flexible rotor in micro gas turbine was presented.The effecting of variation of thickness of floating ring and oil temperature change on whirl and stability was studied.The variance of floating ring thickness caused the changes of the force of oil whirl.It is indicated that in the process of speed up,the stability of the thick floating bearing is better than the thin one;in the process of high speed steady-state,the stability is similar;in the process of deceleration, the stability of the thick floating bearing is worse than the thin one.It is also shown that the whirl ratios of outer and inner oil film in floating ring bearings approached 0.5 and 0.3 in squeezing vibration respectively.The variance of oil temperature caused viscosity reduction.In consequence it resulted the variance of oil film rigidity.It is indicated that in the speed space of 15000r/min~41000r/min,the stability of the low oil temperature is better than the high one;in the speed space of 41000r/min~45000r/min and deceleration, the stability of low oil temperature is worse than the high one.This research provides experimental and theoretical evidence for future floating ring bearings design and performance research.
