The suggestion of feasible projects is based on synthetic discussion of each aspect, which affected by some factors, such as function, technique, economy, aesthetics, etc, also the effect of each with. These affections are comprised of definitely, measurable, objective factors and some undefined, inestimable, subjective factors. Mathematic theory and method have to be applied when factors are union by reasonable and scientific way.The catastrophe theory is applied for bridge construction project optimization according to the further study of catastrophe theory and how to combine both the objective and subjective factors from this paper we discussed. Catastrophe theory, which supplied a general method for jumping variance, discontinuous and outburst qualitative change is the target to bridge optimization. However, because of the abstruse symbolic logic and complex formula catastrophe theory is seldom used for the research of bridge construction project optimization.Some aspects of studies were discussed from this paper as follows:(1),Introduction of gene analysis method: the method for solving the problems which number of parameter values overrun the defined of catastrophe theory.Three models of catastrophe theory, unitary expressions, are often used for the scheme optimization. However, in the catastrophe theory when the number of parameter values is out of 5, models can't be applied. Further study show the suggestion of gene analysis and theoretical methods which can solve the overrun problem by applying less number of parameter values, which contain the 85% original information instead of the original number from this paper.(2),Based on the further studies of catastrophe theory, engineering economics, the system theory, the methods of modern optimization and the advanced computer technology, a model for computer assistant decision-making and a method of bridge construction project optimization based on catastrophe theory is made. Applying catastrophe theory to the field of bridge construction project optimization is of practical value as well as theoretic significance. It will get the extensive application in bridge optimization and provide the gist of credibility theory and the realization means along with the kind of model gradually sum-up and further perfect in practice. Meanwhile, advanced computer technology offered not only increaser optimal selection efficiency, but also ideas and technology for the application of computer to the optimization of designs.
