Nowadays, with the development of shipbuilding technology and the demand of modern ship, combined power plant also came into being. Among them diesel- diesel combined power plant (CODAD) most widely used. Diesel- diesel combined power plant not only to meet the needs of ships and vessels, but also has been widely used board in a variety of civil engineering. Obviously, these characteristics of CODAD result in high requirements to the main engine control system and the best match of among ship, engine and propeller. If the ship in the actual work, uneven distribution of load between the two main engines, which are in parallel, takes place, or actual navigation state is not matching with the design state, will result in that the matching of among ship, engine and propeller keeps away from optimal one. Consequently all of then are bound to affect the economics of ship operations. Thus it can be seen, to match propeller with main engine reasonably we not only need to make the main engine evenly distributed load when parallel operation and the transfer of load smoothly when splitting from system, but also make the propeller and main engine achieve reasonably match to make full use of the power, and engine's power can't go beyond the allowable range in the working state, then achieving a goal of optimal match among ship, engine and propeller and attaining high-efficient power capability, economy capability, reliability and longer useful time. To these above-mentioned problems, the simulational model was based by the simulational technology,it was accounted and analysised with the computers.The designers who planed the CODAD were benefited from the simulational result.The simulational results were important value for the marine managers to accurately maintain,manage and diagnose the engines.This article mainly confers the issues on modeling of CODAD, control algorithm and optimization method. Firstly, based on the characteristics of CODAD, math models of ship - propeller subsystem, diesel engine subsystem, load control subsystem, pitch control subsystem, optimization control target function, etc. have been established. While, based on MATLAB/ SIMULINK, the whole propeller system's figure simulation models and CODAD system's optimization control target models have been established. After that, based on platform of MATLAB7.1, CODAD Synchronizing Control System has been established. Finally, using single governor control and Master/Slave governor control to research the simulation of an offshore oil platform. And the simulation results have been analyzed and compared each other.The result of simulation indicates, the effect of single governor control is better than one of Master/Slave governor control. The single governor method could control resonable load distribution smoothly and precisely between the two main engine when parallel operation and splitting from system. Accordingly, to ensure the safe operation of the ship, prolong main engine's age, and reduce the cost of working.
