Inheriting The History, Developing The Future

With over a century's development,China architecture takes on a new look of "letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend". However,one focus question about combining tradition with modernity has been discussing in China architecture.Exploring the development direction of China architecture is the responsibility of all the Chinese architects,of whom Zhang Jinqiu is one famous and influential.She has worked in Xi'an(the capital of Shanxi Province, famous for the historic relics) for several decades,and devotes herself to protecting the style of ancient capital and reserving the historic culture.Her architectural works spread all over Xi'an city,of which some are the proof,reinstatement or reconstruction of historic relics,some are her new architecture works according to the requirements of protecting specific history environment(Culture Reservation District,Historic Street District,Building-controlling District,Development District in Ancient Capital,etc.). Moreover,she makes the multivariate exploration of modern architecture creation, which is based on the local characteristics and urban culture environment,and aims to combine tradition with modernity.Her multivariate architecture works characterized by the specific urban environment of Xi'an city,embody the mainstream of the times,and contain the traditional cultural essence.Her special creative ideas and methods have made positive research significance for the development of modern architecture.The thesis makes a preliminary study on creative methods of Master Zhang Jinqiu to explore the modern architecture creation. The present author analyzes Shanxi Provincial Library and Gallery,Qujian International Convention Center(Qujiang Hotel) and Qun Xianzhuang Housing Estate from three aspects of creative backgrounds of ancient capital Xi'an,Zhang Jinqiu's creative methods and multivariate explorations,and with the main line of combining tradition and modernity.Chapter 1 gives the literature review of Chinese exploration on the traditional architecture culture,creative performances of Xi'an architects under the specific culture environment,and basic information of Zhang Jinqiu's architecture works.In Chapter 2,based on the concrete creative methods of Zhang Jinqiu,the author explains the three buildings' physical factors such as layout,space,surroundings, architecture style.Then the creative methods of Zhang Jinqiu are analyzed in Chapter 3. The last part,Chapter 4,gives the new ideas and thoughts from the analysis of the architecture works.
