In the current power system, protect devices and fault recorders will form a large amount of data when there is a fault. Based on many years of running experience, useful information may be only 30% to 40%, sometimes even less. Substations will upload all of the fault data directly to dispatch center. And the monitor will show the events, warning, and the information of recorders and protection devices on one screen. This led to the operators to examine information arduous and time-consuming, but also they may miss important information. Further more, lots of information transmit to the monitoring center will not only seriously affect the speed of information transmission, but also cost the technical staff a lot of time to deal with classification, and this is not conducive to dispatch operators to judge the fault quickly and accurately. In order to resolve the problem of information redundant, and inefficient of the current fault analysis system, and increase the reliability of the entire power grid running, the paper will research a fault analysis system based on the fault record information and protection of the substation, which can provide a fast, accurate platform to deal with and analysis fault information. Becoming effective method to improve the efficiency of information processing, ensure power grids safe and reliable. At the same time lay a foundation for achieving unattended substation.
