Primary Research On Comprehensive Utilization Strategy Of Dredged Mud

Since the adoption of reform and opening policies, coastal economic in our country developed rapidly, port and coastal engineering projects increased very fast, resulting in an increasing number of dredged mud. The traditional mode of processing marine dredged mud is to dump it into the ocean, which caused tremendous negative impact to the marine environment.In fact, dredged mud is a kind of waste with great recycling value, even at home and abroad there is no lack of methods that transform dredged mud into reusable materials, but it is regrettable that they have not been fully utilized. Today,the development of recycling economy and energy-saving and emission reduction are advocated in our country, the utilization of dredged mud as resource, has attracted social attention from various aspects, including the Government. In China, marine dredged mud has not been fully utilized, the reasons are manifold. Not only are the institutional mechanisms under social environment included, but also include factory's own problems of comprehensive utilization of dredged mud in the process of industrialization. In order to obtain first-hand information, the author selected a ceramsite-producing factory as an example, which located by Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao. Entry to the factory, he personally participates in the dredged mud ceramsite production, and gets comprehensive understanding of the produce operations, as well as difficulties in the current financial crisis. On this basis, the strategy is proposed in terms of creating the environment, government support and corporation innovation to promote utilization of marine dredged mud, and the feasibility of which is analyzed.It is not difficult to deal with dredged as resources, but there is quite a long way to promote the utilization of dredged mud as an industry to market. During this process, efforts from governments, enterprises, research institutes, as well as the concerted of all sectors of society are needed, to decrease burden for the ocean and bring a bit of harmony to the environment.
