Combing And Analysis Of Water Environment Arts Of Ancient Town

Ever since the landing of life form from the oceans,it never fail to seek habitats with water for their own survival on another world. Water, from a different point of view, includes: geographic distribution, form characteristics, internal structure and natural context, has not only influenced the formation processes of rural settlements and basic cells of social structure, but also remained the most crucial factor in shaping the modern urban civilization. Traditional Chinese philosophy tells: "interaction and harmony between human and nature", has become the soul in building ancient villages which aim to pursue and realize harmony and unity between human, nature, society, and many others. Traditional Settlements which include perfect water management system, divers folk customs, abundant spatial patterns, as well as precious economic and cultural value will have great referencing and guiding importance in revealing and succeeding its cultural in the past; as well as exploring metropolitan morphology in the present.Water has nurtured the human civilization while confining the development of human society. The culture of water always sparks in every corner of our social lives.This article not only analyze how the ancient people choose their settlement site with water as well as what factors form the art of water environment in ancient communities, but also expatiate how the structure, elements and function of water environment influence human activities and settlement patterns in ancient communities. In later chapters, it will be demonstrated on how to introduce successful water elements of ancient communities into present urban area through case study.
