Globoidal indexing cam mechanism is widely used in automatic machine and automatic production lines. But its complex profiles and cumbersome design process prevents it from further development.In this paper,theory of engagement in space and the method of rotary coordinate transformation are applied in the research of globoidal indexing cam,the equations of stress angle,meshline,and cam profile have been established.This paper focused on the optimization design and simulation for globoidal indexing cam mechanisms. Aim at the minimum of the maximum of the stress at the point of contact. The optimal process of the globoidal indexing cam mechanisms is introduced in this paper, And show the way how to calculating the 3D coordinates of the working surface of the globoidal indexing cam mechanisms; An visible software operation platform has been developed based on VC++ Object-Oriented method and Pro/E,which can guide user to complete the data input with the friendly interface. In the platform some parts can be generated automatically drived by parameter and make it is easy to draw the profile of work surface of cam. Then the model is assemblied in Pro/ENGINEER directly. For research the movement of the mechanism in any position and angle,simulation of the motion of Globoidal indexing cam is done,meanwhile study the motion interference and properties of Globoidal indexing cam so that we can check whether the mechanism mesh properly or not. and decide how to modify the result of design. The precision of movement of the roller gear cam is analyzed by using differential method.From the point of view of electromechanical coupling,the universal dynamic model of globoidal indexing cam has been established by taking the driven motor as a part of the whole system.In a word this paper provide an platform to design Roller geam cam,realize the design visualization,parameters and optimization,and build model of the mechanism dynamics system which can provide referenees for deep research of Globoidal Indexing Cam.
