In the system of road lighting, lights often work in the state of high load as a result of big fluctuation of electric network which makes electric power energy greatly consumed and wasted. At present, the domestic dimmers still make use of SCR voltage regulating technology which exports sine wave chopped off directly. Because of the characteristic of SCR, it causes the deformity of sine waves meanwhile the discharge waveforms contain lots of harmonic waves which speed the aging velocity of the cables and the transformers in the road lighting system and also interfere with communication equipments around the illumination system which reduces the reliability of the road lighting system and result in pollution of electric network. It is necessary to give up the phase controls and apply with high frequency modulate technology to solve public electric hazards.This article firstly has introduced the current situation and the significance of electric power energy-saving technology and our main domestic and overseas electric-saving technology at present and also has pointed out its shortcomings in the existence. In order to solve the problem, the paper makes sure that using the electronic switch IGBT to replace the SCR and applying AC chopping voltage regulator technology to design electric-saving device and advances using IGBT and special drive circuit to develop AC regulation energy-saving control device based on PWM control and real time power factor criterion. According to the control demand of voltage of lights and on the basis of discussing the working principle of AC regulator, the main circuit of AC regulator, hardware of controller and the drive circuit and protection circuit of IGBT are designed. The arithmetic of PWM chop AC regulator and the way of data processing are also presented. This paper chooses the total digital control based on DSP method and combines high frequency PWM pulse-width signal with negative feedback of voltage and digital PI control to carries out the development of the voltage regulator board and the exploitation of control software .The system program is compiled by MMB software which improves application efficiency of the program.The method not only may realize the stable sine output voltage, but also the design used in high-power voltage regulating device in order to adjust light of multi-lamps at the same time can increase the power factor and the life of lamps .
