We can even go so far to say that LeGuan Street is a portrait of historical cultural evolution of KaiFeng. This article took LeGuan Street as research object and investigates its historical cultural accumulation and nowadays status. Combining the investigation and investigation, summarizing the results of them, this article then elaborated the suggestion of protection and development of The LeGuan Street.It was put forward that the protection research of LeGuan Street should be combined with the social habitation, geographical cultural characters and the background of the times. In the research the historical value and status quo in nowadays should be paid more attention to. The status of entity and nonentity in LeGuan Street, the origin of LeGuan Street, the celebrity and anecdote in the street were invested in this article. The phenomenon of existent and disappeared traditional residence construction was contracted. Basing on the investigation and contrast the main three problems existing in the city development were found out. Reasons on the appearance of the problems were analyzed and the essentiality of historical cultural street protection was explained.The practice inspection and questionnaire survey about LeGuan Street were carried on the residents, and by means of the analysis results, the interrelated protection principles were put forward, which were pointed, natural, progressive, private and self-suggestion. Then the article also learned other historic blocks for success experiences and put forward suggestions on the development of the LeGuan Street. These were the breakthrough for the protection and development of the LeGuan Street which located in ancient KaiFeng city, also were the innovation of this thesis.Only by the reasonably effective protection of the existing traditional buildings in the LeGuan Street, and unceasingly injecting new vitality, we enable the LeGuan street to obtained the continuous development in the ancient KaiFeng city, and we also could create a better living environment and habitation.Protection and development of street in ancient city was an art which should be researched and developed in a long period. In the end of this article the protection measures were discussed simply. The effective protection and development of LeGuan Street could add a historical street, which was full of traditional construction atmosphere, to KaiFeng city and hold the characters of itself even when KaiFeng stepped in the cortege of modern city.
