Compressor is being widely used in many kinds industries. Therefore, monitoring state of the compressor, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the compressor and alarm on time, isolating the source of the fault accurately, and effective implementation of fault control and prevention, is of great significance for safe production. Meanwhile, as a result of the process of economic globalization is getting fast and fast, and market competition is even more intense, the traditional door-to-door diagnostic service has been unable to meet customers'rapid fault diagnosis and maintenance requirements. Whether adapting to this change, and providing customers with high-quality products and after-sale service, is the key for enterprises survive and develop in the future. So enterprises must establish a remote state monitoring and fault diagnosis system based on web technology, multimedia technology, modern communication technology, and fault diagnosis technology. So that they can monitor and diagnosis the state of product equipment from long distance for customers.In this paper, local system for compressor's remote monitoring and diagnosis is designed. And in the development process, main works are done as follow:(1) The monitoring data of compressor state is analyzed to determine point distribution and encoding method. For relative large volume of dynamic signal data, this thesis presents a means of data compression that is DCT transform. The feasibility of this method is proved by experiment and emulation.(2)The network structure of local system is established. And according to the attribute of the monitoring data of compressor, communication protocol in the process of data transmission is determined.(3)The database of local system is established. In this process, that how to manipulate Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel with VB is detailed introduced.(4) Display of the monitoring data of compressor state and commonly used chart is implemented under VB platform. In the mean time, this chapter shows how to call functions of Matlab with VB.Until now, the system is still at the beginning, there are still many places need to be improved, which will be described in the last chapter.
