Along with rapid development of road tunnel construction in our country, tunnel power supervisory system, as an important part of tunnel construction, is receiving more and more attention and concern. To develop intelligent power monitoring systems has important significance to realize management automation of tunnel power supply and distribution system, unattended substation, remote monitoring and maintenance of equipments. combining with actual conditions of Qinling Zhongnan Mountain expressway tunnel project, byintroducing ethernet technology and SCADA technology, this paper carried out detail designs of the tunnel power supply and distribution system and its intelligent integrated automatic power monitoring system, i.e. power SCADA system.Firstly, a brief description of basic functions, basic structure and key technologies of highway tunnel power supervisory systems had been done. Secondly, this paper introduced in detail the design of Qinling Zhongnan Mountain highway tunnel power supply and distribution system. Following the basic ideas and principles of supply and distribution equipments design, the high-low power distribution system and UPS system were designed. Capacity indicators, configuration specifications and configuration standards of the equipments were presented on the premise of clear understanding power supply objects and their own load grading. In addition, the required lightning protection grounding system was designed. Then, this paper put forward supply and distribution monitoring system (i.e. power SCADA system) design requirements, including design principles to be followed, system characteristics highlighted, primary system functions and major technical indexes satisfied, system hardware and software configuration and functional requirements to be met and so on. Finally, the implementation of power SCADA system designed was described in detail. On the premise of reaching the fixed system objectives, from hardware implementation the system was divided into three parts from top to bottom. For each subsystem, its configuration requirements and implementation was discussed. From network implementation the network was divided into three layers. Each layer network structure and its main functions were described. Technical specifications needed by each layer network hardware configuration and major technical indicators that each layer should reach were proposed.Currently Qinling Zhongnan Mountain highway tunnel power supply and distribution system and its power SCADA system design has been worked out and implemented. As this power SCADA system is a kind of more intelligent integrated automatic monitoring system, it can make substation unattended, improve power supply quality and reliability, and reduce maintenance workload.
